Developer Jeff Rose, Twitter handle @jakerocket, has stated that upon his leaving the developer, Days Gone had sold 8 million copies.
He also goes on to explain that he felt that upper management had made the team feel as if the game was a failure.
If you remember Days Gone was one of the most unpolished Sony First Party titles that the company has released, garnering fairly average scores, mostly held down by a large number of crashes, technical graphics issues, and other problems.
Days Gone has been patched many times and the PC Version, itself beset by some technical issues, has seen itself patched and is doing very well on Steam Reviews.
