Phil Spencer, Microsoft's head of Xbox, recently stated on the New York Times podcast, that the S and X have sold more this generation than any previous versions of Xbox consoles.
With a bit of comparison and numbers crunching that means that the Series S and X boxes have been selling higher numbers than the previous consoles in comparison on the timeframe of their launches.
Xbox 360 sits around 86 million owners, with the Xbox One at around 50 million, meaning that the S and X can easily get to those numbers as long as the constrained supply chain of the console's APUs continue to supply the console's innerds.
